Our Goals

Advocacy                                                                                                                                           .

Advocacy is about having your voices heard. It's about working to align decision-makers to initiate change. This happens on many levels- individually, locally, nationally, and even globally. Girl Up Queen's is working to create the changes we want to see in the world, starting with the Kingston Community. Our team is passionate about advocating for gender equality and women's rights. To do this, we have started several social media campaigns, including our 1 Minute Impact series, Let's Talk More About series, and Africa is Bleeding series. In the future, we hope to use our platform to continue our advocacy efforts and make a difference!

Fundraising                                                                                                                                       .

Raising funds for Girl Up Queen's is more than just asking for donations- it's about motivating the people in our community to care about gender equality and women's rights. We believe that all girls deserve to go to school no matter where they are born. That's why our team has decided to support the "Girl Up against Violence" campaign created by the United Nations, whose goal is to help 10 refugee girls in Uganda escape gender-based violence and continue their education. Every event we've hosted thus far, from our movie nights to our empowerment and confidence meditation sessions, has been geared to raise money for this campaign. Click this link to donate today!

Partnerships                                                                                                                                       .

Partnerships play an important role in Girl Up Queen's efforts. By collaborating with restaurants, non-profit organizations, and other Queen's Clubs, we are working to secure donations for our campaign and create a better world for girls.  So far, we've teamed up with the Queen's Spirituality, Yoga & Meditation Society, Queen's Clubs Unite for Women's Global Health Conference, International Development Week, Tommy's Kingston, and many more. We are grateful for the partnerships we have created, as their partnership ensures a means to tackle global issues and gender equality in the community and around the world. Don't hesitate to get in touch with our club here, to partner with us.
